In Part 1 of the interview, hockey historian and writer Todd Denault—who has authored four books—chats hockey, research, interviews with former players, and writing. A life-long Montreal Canadiens fan, Todd discusses his 2010 biography on legendary goaltender Jacques Plante and how that project originally came about. Now an established writer, Todd also shares the story on how he, despite being a first-time author at the time, was able to secure interviews with many of the Montreal legends and other big names in the sport.
